Dawn's Story

Dawn moved to Colorado with the hopes of creating a better life for her and her two teenage daughters. Unfortunately, Dawn’s vision did not go according to plan, as she encountered obstacles that prevented her from securing housing, therefore the family was living in motels. Dawn was quickly going through her savings and was in crisis mode as she faced the reality that her and her daughters would be living in their car soon if she could not obtain the assistance needed to help her get back on her feet.

Thanks to our partnership with Adams County SD12, the homeless liaison at the girl’s school referred the family to Almost Home. Dawn was able to work with our case manager to create goals, overcome obstacles and ultimately identify and secure a place of her own.
